Tutorials and Enrichment

College life is more than just your studies, it’s an opportunity to try something new, develop your skills and build relationships.

Here at The Skills Academy we have a variety of enrichment activities to help build your confidence and help support with those softer skills for your CV.

One to one and group tutorials.

While studying, students will be offered a range of tutorial activities that can support their overall development. Tutorials can cover many subjects including healthy living, mental health, Prevent and Fundamental British Values. These sessions may be delivered by tutors or external, specialist speakers

Activities and Events

Stockton Riverside College holds a number of annual events to celebrate diversity, promote positive mental health, share the importance of maths and English and every year we look for other topics which affect our students.

We invite specialist external speakers into the college to share their knowledge on topics including respect, equality, health and wellbeing. These sessions add value to students’ education and enables them to make informed choices about their life style choices and views.

Fundraising

We enjoy doing our bit to support others and raising awareness and money for charities is a great opportunity to learn. We also love an excuse to dress up, eat cake and do something a little silly.

Volunteering

V @ SRC is a scheme which all students can get involved in. The group meets regularly to volunteer for local projects either doing manual work, sharing views or caring for others. Volunteering looks good on your CV too!

Students’ Union

What is the Students’ Union?

The Students’ Union is a brilliant opportunity that lets you meet new people and make new friends, set up clubs and events that you want to take part in. Whether it’s setting up a 5-aside league, dance group or even a games club…. the choice is yours.

Also, have your say on how the college is run, tell us what we are doing right and what we need to work on so we can improve the student experience. It also gives you amazing opportunities to add to your CV or UCAS application.
