Safeguarding & Wellbeing

You Matter

The Skills Academy is committed to safeguarding our students. This commitment is shown throughout our College’s values.

Students’ Wellbeing

We have dedicated wellbeing and safeguarding officers at The Skills Academy, who are there to support students’ wellbeing. Students’ physical and mental health can affect their learning. The specialist welfare and safeguarding team are available as a first point of contact for all our students who have concerns about any aspect of their home or college life.

How we can support you

We offer information, advice and guidance on a range of issues including:

  • Managing relationships
  • Mental health
  • Housing
  • Substance misuse
  • Abuse, domestic abuse, neglect
  • Sexual health
  • Bullying including cyber bullying
  • Benefits
  • Internet safety

We have access to many external support agencies and we can signpost students to relevant services, where applicable.
